An avid supporter of Hopper’s baseball and one of the original team members has passed away. 83-year-old Peter “Pete” Clayton Harbold, of Dawn Drive in Hopkinsville, passed away Tuesday morning.
According to information from the funeral home, Harbold was a native of Columbus, Ohio. He signed with the Philadelphia Athletics the day he graduated high school and was assigned to the Hoppers.
He worked and retired from Thomas Industries, as a Quality Control Manager. Then he was a Realtor and worked at Lewis Bakery. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements that will be announced later.
