Hopkinsville Man Facing Charges After Wrecking Vehicle Into Fence

A Hopkinsville man was arrested in Trigg County after wrecking a vehicle and running from the scene of the accident Thursday afternoon.

According to a Trigg County Sheriff’s Office report, 22-year old Jessie James Williams, III was traveling along South Road when the vehicle he was driving ran off the roadway and into a fence. While en route, the original caller reported Williams had several bags and was holding something under his shirt that looked like a firearm. When officers arrived, they made contact with him and reportedly found two handguns and a large quantity of ammunition. Williams told officers the guns and the vehicle he was driving were stolen from Stewart County, Tennessee.

Williams was lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property (firearm), receiving stolen property under $10,000, carrying a concealed weapon, and other charges.
