Authorities say an Owensboro man was arrested for his second DUI after he was found asleep on Interstate 24 in Trigg County Monday evening.
The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a vehicle in the right eastbound travel lane of the interstate. Upon arrival, an officer says he found 25-year old Tyler Timmons of Owensboro asleep in the driver’s seat and smelled marijuana and alcohol coming from the car.
Timmons was arrested after he failed numerous field sobriety tests and the deputy reportedly found approximately 25 grams of marijuana in the change holder by the driver’s door. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with his second offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravating circumstances), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
