LBL Bison Annual Auction Scheduled For Saturday

Approximately 40 bison will be sold during the annual auction at Land Between the Lakes Saturday morning.

LBL Public Affairs Officer Chris Joyner tells the News Edge they auction the bison in order to manage their herd in the 700-acre prairie.

right-click to download mp3Bidders may purchase bison using cash, personal check or credit card at the time of bid acceptance.

Joyner notes all the bison have been checked out by a licensed veterinarian before the auction.

right-click to download mp3Because of size and temperament, Joyner notes closed-topped trailers or vehicles are required and the buyer is responsible for transporting the bison.

The auction will begin at 9:00 Saturday morning with viewing set to begin at 8:00 a.m. at the LBL Lakes Elk and Bison Prairie corral located on the east side of Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway, KY 453, just north of US 68/KY 80.
