The City of Elkton will officially dedicate a city street in honor of a well-known community member and military veteran Friday.
A release says Elkton City Council voted to rename North Weathers Lane to Mr. Guy Mallory Lane, who served his country valiantly in World War II and the Conflict in Korea. City officials say Mallory gave freely to the community, including land donations to the Todd County Senior Citizens Center and Todd County Public Library. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service, working in the Elkton Post Office that sits adjacent to the newly re-named Mr. Guy Mallory Lane.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony at 1:00 Friday afternoon at Mr. Guy Mallory Lane and the intersection of West Main Street in Elkton.
