CCHD Says More Cases Of Hepatitis A Possible

The Christian County Health Department is continuing to work hard to keep the community up to date on the progress of Hepatitis A in the area.

Amanda Bassingthwaite, with the health department, says there is still only one confirmed case in the county, but there could be others.

She says the information they receive is from area doctors and health care professionals. She reminds them to continue reporting any patients with the symptoms, and if anyone has the symptoms, they need to see a doctor immediately.

There are many ways to contact Hepatitis A, and one of those is eating or drinking foods contaminated with Hepatitis A. Bassingthwaite says during training sessions, the health department always encourages those in the foodservice industry to wash their hands.
