The Stewart County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office is introducing the newest member of the patrol team.

Sheriff Frankie Gray recently introduced Stormy, a new K-9 team member on social media. Stormy is a 2-year old female Belgium Malinois and is the 2nd K-9 added to the Sheriff’s Office since Sheriff Gray was elected on August 3, 2018. Both dogs have been certified in drugs and are in training for tracking, apprehension and article searching.

Sheriff Gray thanks County Mayor Robin Brandon for his continuous support. The Sheriff’s Office is happy to report they have saved taxpayers about $22,000 from what they originally thought the dogs would cost because of research done by Brandon. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to work on grants for equipment and vest for the dogs and vehicles to eliminate any other cost.
