While many area senior programs are facing huge budget cuts, the Trigg County Senior Center is thanking the community for all the help they have received thus far.
Center Director Cissy Lawrence recently put out a plea for volunteers and donations and says lots of people have really stepped up.

Lawrence adds they still have a long way to go to raise funds to keep the center open and serving meals like it normally does for all of next year.

The center will be closed on Tuesday, January 1 for New Years Day but they will host a free dance Tuesday night sponsored by Trigg County Hospital.

There will be a lot of activities going on at the center in January according to Lawrence.

The Trigg County Senior Center is still in need of donations and volunteers. Anyone interested in helping can call Lawrence at (270) 522-8341. The center is located at 127 Joy Lane behind Food Giant in Cadiz.
