UPDATE: Trigg County Home Total Loss After Fire

Firefighters with four fire departments battled a house fire on Hopson Store Road in Trigg County Wednesday night.

The Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 742 Hopson Store Road near Wallonia shortly after 6:00 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home fully engulfed. Firefighters with East Golden, Trigg Lyon, and Princeton Fire Departments were also sent to the scene to help fight the blaze.

Cerulean Fire Chief Denise Brashears tells the News Edge the occupants Keith Mitchell and his son, Dustin escaped the home safely. She says the fire started in the ceiling and the cause appears to be electrical.

Kentucky State Police, American Red Cross, Pennyrile Rural Electric, Atmos Gas, Trigg County EMS, and the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Chief Brashears says the home is a total loss.
