Jennie Stuart Health is announcing the opening of a new service that will help to better serve the senior community.
A release from Jennie Stuart states the new 12-bed geriatric behavioral health inpatient unit will begin accepting patients on December 31 and is located at 320 West 18th Street in Hopkinsville.
Jennie Stuart Health chief executive officer Eric Lee says that with an aging population, geriatric health is vital to the community. Lee adds they are very proud to provide a higher level of care through this service.
Officials indicate the service is generally used for patients who are around 65 years of age and are living with depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders or thinking disturbances.
