Former Kuttawa City Clerk Will Be Extradited To KY

The former Kuttawa City Clerk accused of stealing thousands of dollars will be extradited back to Kentucky soon.

According to media reports, Katie Harrison and her husband, Clayton appeared in a Sevierville, Tennessee courtroom Thursday and waived their right to an extradition hearing, meaning they will be brought back to Lyon County. Katie Harrison was arrested November 21 and Clayton was arrested November 16 in Sevier County on a Tennessee charge of worthless checks and being a fugitive from another state based on the warrants issued by Kentucky State Police.

The couple was reported missing after Katie didn’t show up for work in July. After her disappearance, Kuttawa officials notified state police that funds were possibly missing. State police launched an investigation and discovered several thousands of dollars were missing.

According to police, Katie is facing 24 counts of second-degree forgery charges, and Clayton is facing ten counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
