Hopkinsville Man Arrested For Assaulting Cadiz Police Officer

Jordan Goodman

A Hopkinsville man was arrested after violating an emergency protection order and assaulting a police officer Thursday night.

According to a Cadiz Police report, officers were called out to a residence on Turner Drive where 33-year old Jordan Goodman was inside a property he was not allowed in. When officers attempted to make contact with Goodman, he refused to open the door and allegedly stated he was not coming out multiple times.

After several attempts of trying to enter the residence, police began to kick the front door. Goodman continued to use his body to block the door and officers made their way to the back entrance of the apartment to try and get in, with those attempts unsuccessful. Goodman reportedly fled out of the front door and ran toward Ideal Market on Main Street. Goodman was apprehended by the front door of the convenience store where he tried to fight with officers on the ground. Goodman kicked an officer twice in the chest, and another officer’s hand was injured during the incident.

Goodman is lodged in the Christian County Jail facing 1st-degree assault of a police officer, 1st-degree fleeing or evading police, 1st-degree disorderly conduct, and other offenses. Goodman is also facing 1st-degree burglary charges from another incident.
