It is flu season in Kentucky, and the Christian County Health Department is urging people to get their flu shots.
Health Education Manager Amanda Bassingthwaite says there haven’t been many cases of flu locally yet, but the number will increase as we get further into the season.
Bassingthwaite adds the flu can be deadly for the elderly and people with lower immune systems.
The Christian County Health Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at their office located at 1700 Canton Street in Hopkinsville.
