Six Toxic Foods To Keep Away From Pets This Thanksgiving

Animal health experts are warning people about six common Thanksgiving food items not to feed your pets.

These items can harm your pets or even kill them.

* Stuffing or dressing: Onions, scallions, and garlic are extremely toxic to dogs and cats and can cause a life-threatening anemia.

* Ham and other pork products: They can cause pancreatitis, upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea.

* Turkey Bones: Bones can cause severe indigestion in dogs and cats, they can splinter and cause damage to the inside of the stomach and intestines.

* Mashed Potatoes: They contain butter and milk which can cause diarrhea in lactose intolerant pets

* Grapes/raisins: Are potentially deadly, as they can cause severe, irreversible kidney failure in the dogs.

* Chocolate desserts: Chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats. Keep all chocolate out of the reach of pets to prevent an emergency trip to the vet.
