The Trigg County Board of Education will see two new faces after Tuesday’s election.
In District One, which includes precincts in the western part of the county, retired teacher Charlene Sheehan defeated board member Linda Wood by a vote of 781 to 432 to serve a four-year term on the board of education.
Sheehan says she wants to be a voice for the people and the students.
Wood was appointed to the board of education earlier this year to fill the unexpired term of Sharon Simmons. Meanwhile, in District Three, another former teacher Clara Beth Hyde defeated incumbent LaVern Baker by a vote of 502 to 320.
Hyde says she wants to help Trigg County teachers to help the students achieve.
Baker had run opposed in two previous elections for the district, which includes the North Cadiz #1 and North Cadiz #2 precincts.
