DeArmond Wins Christian County Sheriff’s Race

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department will be under Republican leadership January 1 after Tyler DeArmond defeated Democrat Kahle Morris in Tuesday’s election.

DeArmond carried 30 precincts and racked up 9,343 votes for the win over Morris, who received 7,038 votes and won 11 precincts.

DeArmond told the News Edge during live coverage that he appreciates the voters placing their confidence in him.

right-click to download mp3DeArmond has served with the Hopkinsville Police Department the past 15 years. Morris, who previously worked as a deputy sheriff, operates the family business, H & M Vending.

Christian County Sheriff Livy Leavell is retiring at the end of the year.
