21 Teams Faced Off In Annual Freedom Friday Chili Cook-off

Downtown Hopkinsville was filled with the smell of chili Friday afternoon as the Christian County Chamber of Commerce held it’s annual Freedom Friday Chili Cook-off.

Director of Military Affairs Lindsey Geraci says 21 teams spent the day cooking chili to be judged with the Hopkinsville-Christian and Todd County Association of Realtors taking home the grand prize. Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority was the 1st place winner, 2nd place winner was Craft Home Team, 3rd place Junior Auxiliary, and 4th place was James E. Bruce Convention Center. Craft Home Team was also awarded best-decorated team and crowd favorite was 160th SOAR from Fort Campbell.

According to Geraci, they host this event for military families in the area.

The event also featured live entertainment with the band Entice at the War Memorial Building and plenty of children’s activities.
