If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend the 24th annual Howl-O-Ween program will be held Saturday at the Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. It’s a daytime, kid-friendly, non-scary special event all about the animal friends at the Nature Station.
Officials say in the release you can Trick or Treat with the League of Eager Animal Protectors (LEAP) during a guided walk along the Nature Station’s Howl-O-Ween Trail. Guides will lead you on a half-mile hike where you can meet some costumed critters who will train you to be the next LEAP superhero. Trail tickets go on sale at 11:30 Saturday morning and cost $5 per person and free for children ages 4 and under. Admission to the Nature Station is included. The first guided tour will leave at 1 p.m. and the last tour leaves at 4 p.m.
For the first time, a Kids Costume Contest will be held beginning at Noon Saturday. Contest sign up begins at 11:30 a.m. So you can bring your favorite costume and maybe win a prize.
