Hopkinsville Man Charged After Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was arrested on Sanderson Drive in Tuesday night after he ran from police.

According to the police report, an officer saw 44-year old Rodney Edwards walking through front yards on Sanderson Drive around 11:30 p.m. and upon seeing the patrol car he began walking quickly toward the backyards. When the officer turned his spotlight on Edwards, he ran and refused commands to stop until the officer deployed a taser as Edwards was going over a fence.

During a search of Edwards’ and his backpack, police say they found knives, flashlights, and gloves — items commonly used in burglaries. Police report Edwards was recently released from jail for committing burglaries in the same area.

Edwards was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Possession of Burglary Tools, Tampering with Physical Evidence.
