Community Mourning Loss Of Guthrie Police Chief

Guthrie Police Chief Matthew Humble

Sad news out of Todd County. Guthrie Police Chief Matthew Humble has passed away after a battle with liver cancer.  The Guthrie Police Department posted on social media that Chief Humble died at 6:15 Wednesday night in the comfort of his home.

Humble, who was 37-years old, served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had ten years of law enforcement experience before being promoted to chief of the Guthrie Police Department in July 2017.

Law enforcement agencies across the region who had rallied to support Chief Humble in recent months are expressing their condolences Wednesday night on social media.

The social media post went on to say, “He will be forever missed and loved in our community. Please keep his family and friends in your hearts and continue to pray for them all. RIP Chief, we will take it from here brother!”

The Guthrie Police Department has parked Chief Humble’s cruiser across from American Cafe in downtown Guthrie as a memorial in his honor. They say everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects at any time.

Chief Humble’s funeral arrangements have not been announced.
