After the groundbreaking in December 2017, the public will be able to get their first glance of the Hopkinsville Sportsplex during a ribbon-cutting ceremony next month.
According to officials, the more than $5.5 million 54,000 square foot facility, which is funded as part of the city-county community collaboration known as Hopkinsville-Christian County WINS, will feature three high-school regulation basketball courts, which can also be converted into six regulation volleyball courts, a multipurpose turf field, baseball/softball batting cages, ample spectator areas, concessions area, restrooms, meeting rooms, flexibility to host additional “non-sporting” events and more.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Thursday afternoon, November 1, at 2:00 at the Sportsplex, located at 155 Tilley Way next to The Bruce Convention Center.
