Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin appointed Kenny Imes to the Calloway County Judge-Executive seat Monday. Imes was the 5th district state representative for Calloway and Trigg counties, with his appointment effective immediately.

Following the appointment, a release from Imes’s office says he resigned the position of 5th district representative. This comes after former Judge-Executive Larry Elkins retired Saturday, September 30th to run for the 5th district seat.

Imes won the primary election in May for the Judge-Executive seat and will face Democrat James Gallimore, Veteran Party candidate Vincent Costello, and Independent Earl Marcum in the November General Election.
