Man Charged With Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man is facing fleeing from police and other charges after he was arrested on a warrant Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police report 28-year old Antonio Haskins is charged with reckless driving, first degree fleeing and evading police in a motor vehicle, and other offenses.

According to the complaint warrant, Sergeant Federico Rodriguez stated on the evening of July 5 he saw Haskins driving a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt. When Sgt. Rodriguez attempted to pull Haskins over he allegedly fled into a heavily populated area, at which time the pursuit was terminated. Sgt. Rodriguez then saw Haskins drive off the road into a yard and exit the vehicle. Haskins was last seen jumping a barbwire fence and fled the scene. Police say the vehicle belonged to Alfred Watkins who stated Haskins did not have permission to drive the vehicle.

Haskins is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
