Students at Hopkinsville Middle School are working to improve the sides of streets in Hopkinsville.
According to a release, students from the Lady Tiger basketball team, the Tiger football team, their parents, and coaches spent Saturday cleaning up trash on city streets as a part of the City of Hopkinsville’s Trash for Cash program. During the course of the day, the teams picked up litter from more than seven miles of streets.
School officials say this and other projects through the middle school teach students that in order to make a difference in their community, they must take ownership.
