If you are a Hopkinsville Electric customer, you may notice a slight increase on your electric bill next month. The rate increase comes after the Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors approved a 1.5 percent effective retail rate increase for all of their 154 power distributions which includes Hopkinsville Electric System.
According to HES officials, the average residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month will see an additional $1.60 on the electric bill.
HES officials say the rate change will become effective October 1.
