Flags Ordered To Half-Staff In Honor Of Ft. Campbell Soldier

Governor Matt Bevin has directed that all flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff Friday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died in Iraq last month.

34-year old Chief Warrant Officer Taylor J. Galvin died on August 20 in Baghdad as a result of injuries he suffered when his helicopter crashed. The incident is still under investigation. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), at Fort Campbell.

Services for Chief Warrant Officer Galvin will be held at Noon Friday at Cedar Key Cemetery in Cedar Key, Florida.

Governor Bevin also encourages individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies to join in this tribute of lowering the flag in honor of Galvin.
