UPDATE: Alleged Dawson Springs Bank Robbery Suspects Captured

The two suspects being sought in connection to an alleged armed bank robbery in Dawson Springs have been apprehended by law enforcement.

Dawson Springs Police Chief Mike Opalek confirmed with the Dawson Springs Progress newspaper that the two male suspects were in custody. His department is in charge of the investigation and they were assisted by the Madisonville Police Department, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police. He says the investigation is ongoing.

Around 11:25 Wednesday morning, emergency scanner traffic reported an armed robbery occurred at Planters Bank located at 50 Oak Heights in Dawson Springs. Law enforcement agencies were looking for the suspects, who were described as two black males in a silver Chevy Malibu.

No other details have been released.
