UPDATE – Name Released Of Child Found In Pond

The Todd County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the 3-year old child found dead in a pond in Todd County Wednesday afternoon. Coroner Timothy Wells identified the boy as Josiah Hoover. He says an autopsy will be conducted Friday at the Medical Examiner”s Office in Madisonville.

Todd County Sheriff Tracy White says dispatch was notified around 5:00 p.m. of a missing 3-year old boy in the 200 block of John Hightower Road. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and conducted a search of the area, including a pond. Around 6:30 p.m., search members found the child deceased in the pond from an apparent drowning.

No foul play is suspected.

Todd County Rescue, Todd County EMS, the Fairview Fire Department, Todd County EMA, Air Evac, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Burden Bearers Chaplin Service assisted at the scene.
