The James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville is celebrating 15 years Thursday evening.
Darrell Gustafson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, says even though the center is celebrating 15 years, the planning began several years before that.
The Center is growing with construction underway on a major addition. Gustafson says the new addition will allow them to serve larger gatherings as well as break out areas for small groups
He says over the past 15 years, the Bruce has welcomed thousands of visitors and with the addition of the new hotel on the site, they will be able to host larger events.
In addition to the new hotel, the new Sportsplex will create many new opportunities.
During the birthday celebration Thursday night, Gustafson says there will be some announcements and a new logo.
The birthday celebration is at the Bruce Convention center Thursday night at 6:00 and everyone is invited.
