3 Arrested On Wanton Endangerment & Drug Charges

Three Hopkinsville residents are behind bars facing multiple charges after police say they made a traffic stop related to a burglary call and then found drugs and children inside the vehicle.

Hopkinsville Police report the driver, 38-year old James Oliver and his passengers, 42-year old Gary Hunt, and 27-year old Jennifer Grace were arrested at East 9th Street and South Virginia Street Saturday night after officers stopped a vehicle in connection to a burglary in the county. Police say a K-9 alerted on the vehicle and during a search officers found used syringes, a white substance melted in a spoon, and several Schedule III pills not in a proper container. Officers indicate the spoon and pills were hidden underneath other items in the rear floorboard. Police say there were also children ages 8 and 6 inside the vehicle. In addition, a syringe was reportedly found on Oliver and Hunt.

Oliver, Hunt and Grace were booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Drug Unspecified), 2nd Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
