A search warrant executed at a home on Wildwood Drive in Hopkinsville led to charges against a father and son, one of which was charged with drug trafficking.
Hopkinsville Police say the search warrant was executed Monday morning at a home in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive based on the odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. During the search, officers reportedly found a small bag of marijuana beside a scale on the kitchen table, as well as an open box of sandwich bags in the room beside the kitchen and a two ounces of marijuana inside of a child’s backpack. Police say 44-year old McKinley Mason, of Louisville, admitted that the marijuana in the backpack was his, along with the scale and pot that was found on the kitchen table.
Officers also report they found a handgun and a bag of marijuana in a blue duffel bag in the living room of the residence that Mason’s son, 21-year old Tereik Mason also of Louisville, admitted belonged to him. Police say they found a hollow point round in the chamber of the handgun and ball point rounds inside the magazine.
McKinley Mason was cited to court to appear on charges of Trafficking Marijuana (Less Than 8 Ounces) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and his son, Tereik, was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Possession of Marijuana and Using Restricted Ammo During Felony (No Shots).
