Police say a traffic violation Monday afternoon led to the arrests of a Hopkinsville woman for drug trafficking and a Hopkinsville man featured as a fugitive on Crime Stoppers.

Hopkinsville Police report officers pulled over a vehicle traveling eastbound on West 2nd Street after not using a turn signal. When the vehicle was stopped, officers say they recognized the passenger as 39-year old Christopher Shaw, the fugitive of the week. They say he exited the vehicle and ran from the scene and officers instructed the driver, 34-year old Jessica Thorn, to wait in the vehicle and then chased Shaw who was quickly apprehended.

Upon returning to the patrol car, police say the dash cam revealed Thorn had entered the house and placed an unidentified item in her pocket; however she denied bringing anything into the home. Police indicate Thorn denied a consent to search so a warrant was obtained for the residence and Thorn. Officers say when Thorn was placed in the patrol car she admitted to having a syringe loaded with meth in her bra, and said there was meth and needles in her bedroom closet.

During a search of the home, officers found eleven grams of meth, digital scales, baggies, needles, two grams of marijuana, several glass pipes and a loaded handgun.

Thorn and Shaw were lodged in the Christian County Jail. Thorn was charged with 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Greater or equal to 2 Grams Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation. Shaw was charged with 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot.
