Magistrates Approve Industrial And Airport Loan Funds

Christian County Fiscal Court magistrates approved revolving loan fund recommendations for an industrial expansion and construction of hangars at the Christian County Airport during Tuesday morning’s meeting.

Pennyrile Area Development District Associate Director of Community and Economic Development Amy Frogue says the first loan approved by the magistrates was with the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation with a total project cost of $3.1 million dollars for an expansion of an unnamed existing facility. She adds the cost to the county is $250,000.

She adds the projected job creation is 60 to 80 new employees with 100 retained jobs.In addition, magistrates unanimously approved a revolving loan fund with a total project cost of $529,000 for the construction of ten new hangars at the Christian County Airport.

Frogue adds the project’s job retention is two full-time and one part-time employee and hoping to spur additional investment and spending at the airport.


In other action, magistrates unanimously approved a request for supplement payment to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for over $1.4 million and pay request #1 for the Courthouse Annex Roof Project of more than $176,000.

Magistrates also approved the service contracts for the Animal Shelter wtih Trigg and Todd counties for $7,500 from each county.

In addition, magistrates uanimously approved the road department bids for petroleum, road materials and concrete, tires, concrete culverts and road tiles.

The next Christian County Fiscal Court meeting will be Tuesday morning, July 10, at 8:30 a.m.
