Around 8am, Clarksville Police spokesman Jim Knoll says an officer responded to Suiter Road where a woman was the driver of a horse and buggy and the horse got spooked for an unknown reason, and took off running wildly. The female driver was forced to jump from the buggy and landed on the roadway and reportedly sustained some minor scrapes, cuts and bumps. But, Knoll says the horse continued onward with the buggy still attached and disappeared over a hill. A man who saw what happened stopped and picked up the woman and they went and pursued the horse and buggy. As the horse continued running down the road, the buggy reportedly hit and knocked over four mailboxes, causing the buggy to flip and collide with a parked car, at which time the horse was freed and continued until it was located, unharmed, on Tylertown Road.

Knoll says the horse was recovered and taken into custody by the owner.
