Suspects Sought In Madisonville Robbery And Assault

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two white males who allegedly robbed and assaulted a couple in Madisonville this week.

Madisonville Police report Timothy Yates and his wife, Dorene were robbed and assaulted by the men near the intersection of North Church Street and Graves Street around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Police say one suspect was wearing camouflage shorts, a white muscle shirt and a blue University of Kentucky ball cap. The second suspect wore blue jeans, boots, and no shirt at the time of the assault. Both suspects are described as being between 5’7″ and 5’10” and of thin to medium build.

Police state the suspects allegedly walked up behind the couple and began hitting them with clubs. Mrs. Yates was able to flee while both suspects were allegedly robbing her husband. Police say an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items were taken. Both suspects were reportedly seen in the area in a black 2003 Chevrolet pickup moments after the robbery.

According to police, Mrs. Yates was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Baptist Health where she was treated and released. Mr. Yates sustained injured but refused medical treatment.
