After a mistrial was declared last month in the manslaughter case against a mother accused in the death of her infant, a Christian Circuit Court judge will be scheduling another jury trial next month.

Court records indicates Judge John Atkins continued a pre-trial conference Wednesday morning until June 20th in Christian Circuit Court in the case of Desiree Catlett, charged with 2nd Degree Manslaughter. At that time, a jury trial will be scheduled, unless a plea agreement is reached.

Judge Atkins declared a mistrial in the manslaughter case on April 24 after the jury deliberated for over two hours and could not reach an unanimous decision.

In October 2016, Hopkinsville Police responded to a home in Evergreen Park regarding a call a 10-month old child wasn’t breathing. Catlett was indicted by a grand jury and arrested on a Christian Circuit Court Warrant in April 2017 on a charge of 2nd Degree Manslaughter.
