The public will get a chance to meet and greet new City Administrative Officer Troy Body during a welcome reception June 5.
Body joins the City of Hopkinsville with fifteen and a half years of executive-level experience in non-profit and local, state, and federal government administration, according to a release. He is a Harlan County native, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in communications with a journalism emphasis from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Degree in political science on urban, state, and local government from Marshall University. In his free time, city officials say Body enjoys traveling, collecting African and Asian art, and reading books about good governance and history, public libraries, and parks.
Mayor Carter Hendricks invites the community to attend the welcome reception to wish Body well and lend their support. The reception is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. until just before the 6:00 p.m. City Council meeting in the Hopkinsville Municipal Center first floor lobby.
