Coroner, Magistrate And Council Races

In the Christian County Coroner’s race, Democrat Zach Lamb will face Republican Scott Daniel in the November General Election. Lamb defeated Democrat Melton Brooks by a vote of 3,478 to 2,570.

Lamb says the key to his successful campaign was getting out and getting acquainted with the community. He says his strategy for the general election is to continue to work hard, meet people and let them know he has the experience to be Coroner.

Daniel defeated fellow Republican Jane McKnight by a margin of 1,937 to 750. Daniel says for the Fall campaign, he looks forward to meeting people and explaining the needs of the Coroner’s office.

In other Christian County races, Democrat Magaline “Maggie” Ferguson defeated incumbent Kenneth Bates by a vote of 340 to 319 for the District 1 seat on Fiscal Court.Republican George Barnett defeated Robert Webb by a vote of 304 to 182 for the District 3 nomination. Barnett will challenge Democrat incumbent Mark Cansler in November.

In District 5, Democrat incumbent Rich Liebe defeated challenger Buddy Oglesby by a vote of 547 to 290.

Democrat James “Jim” Smith defeated incumbent Mark Graham by a vote of 405 to 385 in the race for constable in District 5.

In races for Hopkinsville City Council, Democrat Darvin Adams defeated incumbent Thomas Grant for the Ward 1 seat by a vote of 133 to 82.

In Ward 6, Democrat incumbent Wendell Lynch defeated challenger Shannon Worden by a vote of 243 to 1163. Lynch faces a challenge from Republican Timothy Moss in November.

And Ward 7 Democrat incumbent Terry Parker held off challenger Faye Oglesby, winning by a margin of 274 to 130.
