A Hopkinsville woman was arrested on alcohol and wanton endangerment charges after she allegedly left her infant and three year old alone inside her home.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says they received a complaint from John Walker shortly before 9:10 Saturday night that his wife, 21-year old Cortney Walker, had left his kids alone and he thought she was having a nervous breakdown.

Deputies say they found Cortney hiding under the back porch and she had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on her breath. They report she admitted that she had left the kids alone in the residence in a crib for possibly 20-25 minutes while she went to the neighbor’s house. Deputies say her husband, John, then came home and found the kids in the crib with both doors open to the residence and his wife no where to be found.

Walker was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.
