Motorists will be happy to hear that CSX has completed rail crossing work earlier than expected on Kelly Church Road and Metcalfe Lane in Christian County. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says both Kelly Church Road near the Kelly community and Metcalfe Lane in Hopkinsville are expected to reopen sometime around Noon Thursday.
With the completion of the crossing work on Kelly Church Road, Todd says CSX will move ahead with plans to close Old Madisonville Road at the crossing north of Kelly Thursday. This crossing is about halfway between the Kelly community and the Cavanuagh Lane Connector to US 41. Todd notes there will be no marked detour.
Old Madisonville Road at this site is expected to remain closed through about Wednesday of next week, according to Todd.
