One Arkansas man was flown to a Nashville hospital and a second Arkansas man was transported to a Clarksville hospital after a two vehicle wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police report the wreck occurred just before 1:15am when 31-year old James Harville of Macon, Georgia was driving a tractor trailer and exiting Interstate 24 on the westbound ramp. As he was making a left turn onto Fort Campbell Boulevard, police say a pickup truck traveling northbound on the boulevard driven by 25-year old Jeffery Moyer of Dewitt, Arkansas crashed into the trailer.

Authorities say both men stated they had a green light, but that Moyer later admitted that the light was red, but he couldn’t stop in time to avoid the collision.

Police indicate they detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages inside the pickup truck and found numerous open and empty beer cans. Officers say they also smelled alcohol on Moyer’s breath when they were talking to him. Due to his injuries, officers were unable to conduct Field Sobriety Tests or seek blood, breath and urine tests.

Moyer was transported by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center in Clarksville. Police say his passenger, 28-year old Derek Chadwick, also of Dewitt, Arkansas, was life-flighted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
