A woman arrested in Cheatham County in connection to multiple armed robberies in two states is believed to be the suspect wanted in connection to an armed robbery at a convenience store in Guthrie over the weekend.

Guthrie Police Sergeant Dean Blumel tells the News Edge he believes Megan Piers is the woman they were looking for that robbed the Hi Road Market Saturday morning around 1:30. Sgt. Blumel adds he plans to travel to Robertson County to interview Pires and hopes to get a confession.

According to WKRN Channel 2 in Nashville, the 26-year old woman was wanted for multiple Dollar General armed robberies in Robertson County and Sunday night Cheatham County deputies attempted to arrest her after they received a tip she was near the county dam, but she fled the scene when she saw authorities.

The television station reports a pursuit ensued and Pires reportedly smashed an undercover vehicle as well as a sheriff’s vehicle that was trying to intercept her vehicle. After several miles, authorities say Pires turned down a dead end road, into a driveway, and bailed out of the vehicle and ran toward a wooded area with deputies giving chase. She was taken into custody after she was tased without further incident. Deputies told reporters they also found pills and cocaine in her vehicle.

Investigators told reporters Pires, the mother of three, is so hooked on meth that she was willing to do almost anything. They also say she confessed to an armed robbery at a Dollar General in Springfield. They add the gun she used was a pellet gun.

Pires is charged in Tennessee with Felony Evading, and two counts of Assault on an Officer. She is facing additional felony charges.
