After being on the run for nearly 8 months, a Hopkinsville teen is asking for new counsel. Tijuan Jackson is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery, 1st Degree Burglary, Kidnapping, 4th Degree Assault, and Tampering with a Prisoner Monitoring Device. Jackson reportedly used a stolen Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy’s service weapon to rob a man in November. In July, he allegedly cut off his ankle monitor and fled from police. He appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning, where he told Judge John Atkins that Lester Guier was not a good attorney.

Guier says he met with Jackson Tuesday at the jail to discuss the case. Jackson told the judge he is seeking private counsel. Another pretrial conference in the case is set for March 28.
