Authorities are looking for a Lexington man who escaped from the Hopkins County Jail while on work detail and allegedly stole a City of Madisonville truck. The City of Madisonville posted on social media that 40-year old Wilton Edward Hollifield was on his first day of community service at City Hall when around 11:00am he commandeered a City 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck. City officials say the truck has identifying markers including a City logo on both driver and passenger doors, a round amber strobe light and small American flag flying between the truck bed and cab.

Officials describe Hollifield as a white male, 6’2″, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and he was last seen wearing a khaki shirt and pants. They say he is not a violent offender and was serving a sentence in the Hopkins County Jail for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and 3rd Degree Burglary.
