Mayor Says Progress Being Made On Cleanup Efforts

The majority of the 148 residents of Eagles Crossing Apartments on Calvin Drive that were displaced by Saturday night’s tornado have found housing, according to Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks.

He says the cleanup effort is in full-swing and the City has received a lot of assistance.

And, he adds, the crews are making good progress.

Mayor Hendricks says the bottom line is that every aspect of recovery, from Hopkinsville Electric System crews getting out Saturday night and getting power restored quickly, the state Transportation Cabinet and the City’s Public Works team to the first responders and emergency personnel, people have quickly come together to get the City back to some kind of relative normalcy.
