Todd School Board SEEK Contract With Logan In Limbo

A vote concerning a shared contact between the Todd County and Logan County School Systems in which they trade out SEEK funding is in limbo. Todd County Publisher Ryan Craig explains there was a proposal to trade out some SEEK funding, especially 8th grade or high school students, where some Todd County School Board members voted and some abstained.

Now, because of the vote, he says students who live in Todd County and attend Logan County Schools, or vice versa, may be required to pay tuition.

Craig notes it will be interesting to see what happens, but he adds it was also interesting that the vote was the hang-up with the shared contract.

In other school board news, Craig says the Todd County School Board is concerned about pensions, but they are more worried about the proposed budget cuts to education coming out of Frankfort which could cause a lot of problems for the district.

You can get more details on these stories in Wednesday’s edition of the Todd County Standard.
