Couple Facing Assault Charges After Altercation

A Hopkinsville couple is facing domestic assault charges after a physical altercation Sunday afternoon at a home on Woodbine Street. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says Quadranay Leavelle was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and her boyfriend, Christopher Thompson was charged with 4th Degree Assault Causing Minor Injury.

According to the arrest citation, Leavelle stated the physical altercation began around 3:25pm when she found something in Thompson’s phone and woke him up by throwing his phone at him. Leavelle allegedly grabbed a hammer and tried to hit Thompson with it and then got a screw driver and knife and went after him. Thompson reportedly grabbed Leavelle’s arm, scratched her, choked her and ripped her hair out by the roots. Thompson said Leavelle did stab him with the screwdriver and knife. Leavelle stated she was holding a baby in her arms while she was being choked.
