Long Pleads Guilty to Murdering Lover’s Husband

Six years after the murder of a Fort Campbell soldier the man accused is admitting his part. Jarred Tabor Long appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, where he pleaded guilty to fatally shooting Vincent Goslyn. Judge Andrew Self asked about the decision.

Long was dating Goslyn’s wife, Jessie, while he was deployed. He even reportedly lived with her for a time. Jessie Goslyn pleaded guilty last year to her part and was offered 22 and a half years in prison for her testimony against Long.

Special Prosecutor Mark Blankenship says the plea offered to Long was one he was comfortable with.

Vincent Goslyn had only been home from Afghanistan for a couple days when his wife directed him to Fidelio Road and his demise the night of February 3, 2012. Long fled to his home in Colorado following the shooting and was arrested there days later. Blankenship says Long’s connections to Colorado complicated the case.

Long’s defense attorney, Mark Bryant says this is the best outcome.

Long will be sentenced May 23rd at 1:00pm.
