Flu Forces Closure of Stewart County Schools

Due to the flu, Stewart County Schools will be closed the remainder of this week. School officials announced via a social media post they made the decision after consulting with medical professionals in the county. They add flu again is on the upsurge and in some cases with life-threatening consequences. 

School officials went on to say the decision to close schools the remainder of the week was not made lightly, but with the best interest of the students in mind.

According to the post, the closure will cause the district to use one additional stockpike day over those designated as stockpile days. Therefore, to made up this additional day, all Stewart County Schools will be in session on President's Day, Monday, February 19.
