The former office manager for a Paducah company will pay back almost three-quarters of a million dollars after being sentenced in Federal Court Thursday. United States Attorney Russell Coleman says 39-year old Kristen Renee Roberts, of Calvert City, was sentenced to 65 months in prison for wire fraud and identity theft and ordered to pay the $747,455.30 she embezzled from Utilities Dynamics, Inc.
Roberts pleaded guilty, acknowledging from June 2009 to October 2017, she used the company credit cards for unauthorized purchases benefiting herself and her family. Coleman says Roberts also admitted to electronically debiting the bank account of the Company in order to make payments on her own personal credit cards and the personal credit cards of her family, as well as to overpaying herself and creating fake invoices to cover it up.
